![]() I played in Co-op and it’s been a long time since a game has been so much fun for 2 players on the same screen. The whole game flows so smoothly from start to finish that by the time I was getting into the swing of things, the game was done. I learned from every death and by the end of the playthrough I knew the controls, I could predict enemy movement and patterns. ![]() ![]() Not once did I feel like the game was too hard. ![]() However with the action as intricate and frequent as it is, dying is often but never unfair. Each credit giving the player another 3 lives. With only 4 stages, I completed it in 1 hour but Oh! The wonders of infinite credits! Due to its original release in the arcade, the game gives the player 3 lives and every death after that costs 1 credit. Introduction: Available to play in both single player and co-op, Metal Slug is fun, fast-paced and makes the player think on their feet throughout the whole game. The one I played to write this analysis is the one on the Nintendo Switch Console. Year of Release: Originally released in 1996 for Arcades, Metal Slug has had multiple ports over the years. You play as the main character and the goal is to shoot your way through waves of enemies and progress across the 2D landscape both avoiding and creating as much damage as possible. Premise: Metal Slug is a Run and Gun Arcade game originally released by Nazca Corporation in 1996 for Neo Geo MVS Arcade Platform.
